I give Mariana my very highest recommendation as a yoga instructor and teacher. Two years ago I started learning yoga in a general class. I followed with individual one on one sessions with Mariana. She is an outstanding teacher and trainer. I am significantly more flexible and stronger since I have been working with her. My lower back as well as other joint pains have improved and I no longer use the oral anti-inflammatory medications that I previously used for 30 years. I believe Mariana is an expert at determining what stretches and poses are best for my body. She has helped me in ways that physical therapy and medications have not. I am grateful to Mariana for all her support. I recommend Mariana to anyone, whether they have back or joint problems or just want to improve their strength, flexibility and posture.

improved range of mobility. This is a big deal. When I started I was a bit alarmed at how “stiff” I was getting. I couldn’t twist to get things behind me in the car with out pulling or straining something and then would hurt for days. I could barely get my foot up to put a sock on it! Things were bad. After Yoga. No problems. Also I am able to reach further to reach shelves and window shades. I actually feel taller, although I know its just that I can now stretch more than before, using my full height.
I stand straighter, my balance is better. I don’t fall. This is also a big deal. I trip, but I don’t fall. And if I do twist a bit while catching myself, I don’t injure myself doing it. Its amazing.
My sore shoulder that kept me up nights and was going to send me to physical therapy (I hate gyms and those machines), but I decided to try yoga first. Yoga fitted it. My shoulder is great. This happened fairly quickly, in less than a month of practicing. It has never come back.
My cholesterol (not blood pressure, I don’t have high blood pressure) readings went down with yoga it helps. It also helped with my weight and fitness as well.
My stress levels went down with yoga, that and the above are connected.
I am calmer. Much calmer. I like the person I am better than before yoga. I understand the person I am better with yoga. I understand my body better with yoga. I know where my body is in space with yoga (this is rather amazing actually, body awareness, you don’t know what you are missing until gain the awareness of exactly where your various parts are positioned. In particular your feet. How little attention we pay to our feet and how lovely it is to be fully aware of your feet and ALL of your toes. Although I’m still working on toe numbers 2&3, they just don’t seem to want to be independent. :) )
Learning to breath. Something nobody really thinks about, and should, esp with COVID.
I cannot imagine getting through the last COVID year without your yoga practice online to keep me going. Initially just having the class almost every day gave my day structure. It was one thing that really got me out of bed in the AM and got my day going, even though I was “going” no where except where I was. It literally made my days possible. And all of our teachers and fellow students were my lifeline to other people for awhile.
Mariana is Amazing. My wife, son and myself all practice with Mariana in our backyard. After every session I feel better- way more loose and flexible. My wife is new to Yoga and loves it. My son is getting the shoulder opening he needs to be his best on the field. Highest recommendation!
